About project

Signal AR is an augmented reality experience that requires downloading the Signal festival mobile app from the App Store or Google Play. The installations were created during the 9th Signal Festival in 2021 in response to the pandemic. It is a long-standing Signal project and is still on display during this year’s 10th edition. It is also the way to stay connected with you all year round.

Selected locations will offer the possibility to view the art installations through your mobile device. We recommend visiting the sites during daylight hours, between 8:00 – 19:00, depending on the season.

The augmented reality installation accompanies the launch of one of next year’s most anticipated games on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Horizon Forbidden West is a sequel to the hugely successful Horizon Zero Dawn from 2017. Enter the beautiful yet dangerous Forbidden West wasteland with the main character Aloy, in which there is a mysterious threat. The landscape is dying. Scattered remnants of humanity are ravaged by wild storms and unstoppable disasters as terrible new machines creep around their settlements. Life on Earth is heading for further extinction, and no one knows why. It is now up to Aloy to uncover the secrets behind these threats and restore order and balance to the world.
