The 13th annual Signal Festival is here! This year’s festival has seven installations exclusively in the hidden layer called Signal INSIDE. Where can you find tickets? On our website or physically at the festival box office.
On the Centrum and Vinohrady routes, you will encounter installations full of light, movement, and digital art. What do you need to know before you go? Check out this useful information.
The festival will officially open at 7:00 p.m. at the Basilica of St. Ludmila, where you will have the opportunity to see the first screening of one of this year’s video mappings. Read more about them!
Two videomappings, two new faces of Prague landmarks
We bring you a double dose of video mappings – one for each route. For the first time in the festival’s history, the nearly 70-meter tower of the Old Town Hall will be transformed into a canvas for the monumental projection OVERLOЯD by the Italian studio mammasONica.
After three years, video mapping also returns to the popular Vinohrady location – the Basilica of St. Ludmila. The Spanish studio V.P.M. explores the theme of dynamic changes in the city in its project ITERACE (The Endless Rhythm of the City).
Projections of futuristic architectural structures intersect with the solid geometry of the historical elements of the church facade.

3D projection on a waterscreen → Signal Festival on the Vltava River for the first time
A festival premiere is a 3D projection on a water wall, reminiscent of a large hologram. The work Light of Tzolk’in by Taiwanese studio Peppercorns, visible from Dvořák Embankment, uses a ten-meter water wall as a living canvas on which light, movement, and music intertwine.

Bill Viola → legend of video art
In the premises of the National Gallery Prague – St. Agnes Convent, visitors will encounter the monumental video installation Tristan’s Ascension (The Sound of a Mountain Under a Waterfall) by American video art pioneer Bill Viola. This contemplative work touches on the theme of encountering death – its connection to the sacred space that served as a mausoleum thus provides a profound and powerful experience.

Recommendation from the director of Signal Festival
“I recommend visiting Josep Poblet’s Lux Domus installation, an exceptionally poetic installation that works with light in a sensitive, almost meditative way. Using simple mechanical elements—boxes, rubber bands, lenses, and prisms—the author bends analog light and transforms it into spatial architecture. The result is a quiet, focused experience in which light becomes the creator of space itself. For me personally, it is a truly magical moment.”
– Martin Pošta, CEO of Signal Festival

How to get around the festival?
The best way to enjoy the festival is on foot. A walk through Prague in the evening is part of the experience. For safety reasons, we ask visitors not to ride bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, or other similar vehicles in the vicinity of the locations. There is an increased number of pedestrians on the streets.
Together with our partner, the ČEZ Group, we are introducing the Pomáhej pohybem (Help through Movement) app this year. So whether you are running or walking from one installation to another, your activity and energy will generate points for planting trees and shrubs through the EPP app as part of the non-profit organization Sázíme stromy (We Plant Trees), which the ČEZ Group will financially support through the ČEZ Foundation.
