We got a grant! Thanks to international cooperation, we can push the festival bar even higher.

22. 7. 2022 → Signal 2022

We are constantly looking for ways to improve the Signal Festival and keep pushing its level upwards. But some things we just can’t achieve alone. It is not only the cultural activities that are facing the fragility of their economic models in post-pandemic times. That is why we have decided to join forces with several other European organisations and apply for financial support from the European Union. And we succeeded.

What is it about?
Cultural, creative and digital organisations are the key resource not only for contemporary creativity but also for developing an understanding of the world in the digital age. We wish to be part of that development. To achieve this in the best ways possible, we have teamed up with several other creative projects. We share the same goals and values, so we decided to combine our experience, knowledge and strengths as well. Thanks to the grant, we now have the opportunity to learn from each other not only virtually, but also by visiting the other teams in person.

Who do we work with?
We teamed up with four European like-minded organisations. With them we share the passion for art, technology and cultural festivals. So who’s in it with us?

The Belgian non-profit organisation KIKK builds a bridge between art, culture, science and technology. All four then flow into the annual KIKK Festival, which is very popular on the international digital & creative scene.

The second non-profit project, Kontejner, with its roots in Zagreb, Croatia, focuses primarily on the creation and curation of contemporary artworks, cultural festivals and cultural education.

The founder of the third affiliated company The Catalysts, AC Coppens, sees his mission as primarily developing innovation and creativity in digital technology, media, film, music, design and art.

Last but not least, ZINC, the French digital incubator, as in the previous cases, supports and promotes contemporary artistic digital creation and helps audiences to use technology to develop their own creativity.

30 private companies are also involved and, with their financial support, we have the opportunity to influence and inspire up to 10,000 other organisations in the cultural sector.

What’s in it for us?

  • We will establish collaborations with other international cultural institutions
  • We will gain new competences in cultural fundraising
  • We will be able to inspire each other’s business models for festivals of our type and continue to raise their standards

In addition, we will gain greater economic stability for our festival and the artists we want to keep on inviting to the Czech Republic and present their work to you.

And what’s in it for you?
Thanks to the newly established international cooperation, we will be able to bring you more inspiring artists from all over the world, especially in the field of digital and new media. You will get the opportunity to see the works previously exhibited in world-class galleries in Berlin, New York, London orLisbon. You can look forward to seeing some of them already this October!

Be there with us! 13 – 16 October in the streets of Prague. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, join the FB event, or subscribe to our newsletter so you don’t miss a thing!
