The company Signal Productions s.r.o., with the Company-ID 24717525, with its registered office at Praha 2, Varšavská 516/19, post code 120 00, incorporated by the entry in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, Insert 168463 (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") in relation to its business activities particularly dwelling in organizing the international SIGNAL Festival shall process the personal data in particular of the following categories of the data subjects:
  • Employees, former employees, job seekers, members of the elected bodies, volunteers working for the Company
  • Subscribers of the newsletter sent by the Company
  • Participants of the contests as part of the SIGNAL Festival
  • Artists cooperating with the Company
  • Business partners of the Company or potential business partners of the Company and their representatives, employees or the contact persons assigned by them
  • Users of the SIGNAL FESTIVAL 2018 app.
The personal data shall be processed by the Company as an administrator.

The Company shall not hand over any personal data that it processed as the administrator to any third country (i.e. the country outside the European Union) or to any international organisation with the exception of the USA whereas the Company shall cooperate only with the companies that have the valid certification (EU-USA Privacy Shield).

When processing the personal data by the Company, there is no decision-making that would be based exclusively on automated processing including profiling. Nevertheless, the sub-processes may be automated.

The data subjects have the right in relation to the Company to access their personal data and the right for their correction or amendment. Depending on the particular type of processing, the data subject may claim a right for deletion in relation to the Company (the right to be forgotten), the right for restriction of processing or the right to object.

The data subjects may apply these rights electronically via e-mail to the e-mail address info@signalfestival.com or in the written form via a letter delivered to the registered office of the Company.

If the data subject assumes that processing of the personal data by Company is anyhow found defective, it has the right to deal with the Company Executive or to make a complaint at the supervisory authority which is the Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).

a) Employees, former employees, job applicants, members of elected bodies and volunteers of the Company

Purpose and legal basis of the processing

The purpose of processing of the personal data of the employees (including former employees) and members of the elected bodies of the Company is in particular meeting the statutory obligations arising to the Company on the basis of the Act no. 262/2006 Coll., Labour Code, the Act no. 90/2012 Coll., on Business Corporations, as well as other legal regulations (particularly in the area of health insurance, sickness insurance, social insurance as well as taxation and execution or insolvency proceedings or administration of public registers etc.).

The purpose of processing of some of the personal data of the employees (including former employees) and members of elected bodies of the Company is also proper fulfilment of the contract concluded by and between the Company and the respective employee or a former employee or a member of the elected body (e.g. employment contracts, agreements to perform work that do not constitute the employment relation, remuneration agreements, agreements on responsibility, management agreements etc.).

The purpose of the personal data processing of job applicants by the Company is proper and efficient searching for suitable candidates for various positions within the Company. Legal basis of processing of these data is the entitled interest of the Company to search for the most suitable candidates for the particular job role.

The purpose of the personal data processing of volunteers of the Company is proper arrangement of operation of the SIGNAL festival and close cooperation with these entities who significantly contribute to successful operation of the SIGNAL festival (e.g. by means of sale of the festival map). Legal basis of processing of such data is the entitled interest of the Company, or eventually performance of the contract concluded with the volunteer.

Recipients of the personal data

Personal data of the employees (including former employees), members of the elected bodies and volunteers of the Company may be handed over in relation to fulfilment of a statutory obligation of the Company to the following recipients: the Czech Social Security Administration, tax administration bodies, insurance companies, providers of work-related medical care or services in the area of fire protection and safety and health protection at work, public registers, execution offices, insolvency courts or other public administration bodies of the Czech Republic (within their competence).

The following processors may be appointed to process the personal data of employees (including former employees), job applicants, members of the elected bodies and volunteers of the Company: suppliers of database or other information systems used by the Company, providers of data storage systems, the website administrator, providers of (payroll) accounting or HR services, auditors and tax or legal advisors etc.

Personal data storage time

Personal data of employees (former employees) and members of the elected bodies of the Company are processed during duration of the employment relation with the Company as well as during the period when any rights arising from or related to the employment/commercial relationships may be claimed. Personal data which are the integral part of the documents for which longer archiving periods are prescribed by special legal regulations shall be stored during the determined prolonged archiving period.

Personal data of job applicants shall be stored only for the period their processing is necessary for assessment of the recruitment procedure for the particular job position at the Company. The job applicant may grant his/her consent with longer processing to the Company in order to get a possible job offer in the future. In this case, the personal data of employees are stored for the period of three years from provision of such a consent, at the latest.  

Personal data of the volunteers of the Company shall be processed during the period of the ongoing cooperation (e.g. sale of the festival map) as well as during the period when any rights arising from or related to the legal relationships may be claimed. Personal data which are the integral part of the documents for which longer archiving periods are prescribed by special legal regulations shall be stored during the determined prolonged archiving period.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

Provision of the personal data is the statutory or contractual obligation to the extent the personal data processing is necessary for fulfilment of legal obligations of the administrator or for performance of the contract concluded by and between the Company and the employee (a former employee) or a member of the elected body of the Company. If the personal data are not provided, the contractual relationship cannot arise by and between the data subject and the Company.

In case of job applicants at the Company, data subjects are not obliged to provide their personal data. Nevertheless, if they do not provide their personal data, they cannot be assessed within the recruitment procedure from the perspective of suitability for the particular position they apply for and the employment contract or agreement to perform work or agreement to complete a job cannot be afterwards concluded with them.

In case of volunteers of the Company, data subjects are not obliged to provide their personal data. Nevertheless, if they do not provide their personal data, they cannot perform their volunteering activities for the Company.

b) Subscribers of the Company newsletters

The purpose and legal basis of the processing

The purpose of processing of the e-mail address of subscribers of the Company newsletters is to send the newsletters. Newsletter subscribing service of the Company is intended only for persons older than 16 years.

Legal basis of processing of the e-mail address of subscribers of the Company newsletters is the consent of the data subject. This consent may be withdrawn at any time via the link in each newsletter.

Recipients of the personal data

E-mail address of subscribers of the company newsletters may be passed on in relation to the performance of statutory or contractual obligations of the Company to the following recipients: public administration bodies of the Czech Republic (when performing activities within their competence).

The following processors may be appointed to process the personal data of subscribers of the company newsletters: suppliers of the databases or other information systems used by the Company or providers of data storage systems, the website administrator (in the extent strictly necessary in relation to sending the newsletters).

Personal data storage time

Personal data of subscribers of the Company newsletters are processed during duration of consent, i.e. standard period is 5 years.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

Provision of the e-mail address to the Company in order to receive the company newsletters is optional.

c) Participants of the contests held as part of the SIGNAL festival

The purpose and legal basis of the processing

The purpose of the personal data processing of contest participants held as part of the SIGNAL festival is particularly proper delivery of the awards to the winners of the contests (i.e. mainly tickets for the artistic performances within the SIGNAL festival).

The legal basis of the personal data processing of the contest participants with the purpose to deliver the awards to the winners is the performance of the contract or the eligible interest of the Company.

Recipients of the personal data

Personal data of contest participants may be passed on in relation to the fulfilment of statutory or contractual obligations of the Company to the following recipients: public administration bodies of the Czech Republic (when performing activities within their competence).

The following processors may be appointed to process the personal data of users of the app: suppliers of the databases or another information systems used by the Company, providers of data storage systems or the website administrator (in the extent strictly necessary in relation to the performance of the agreement).

Personal data storage time

Personal data of contest participants are processed during duration of the contest and after its termination until the awards are entirely sent to the contest winners.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

In case of contest participants, data subjects are not obliged to provide their personal data. Nevertheless, if they do not provide their personal data, they usually cannot participate in the contest since the award cannot be delivered to them.

d) Collaborating artists

The purpose and the legal basis of processing

The purpose of personal data processing of the artists collaborating with the Company is proper negotiation, conclusion and performance of the contract concluded by and between the Company and the respective artist as well as proper presentation of his/her project or artwork at the SIGNAL festival. The legal basis of the personal data processing of the collaborating artists is performance of the contract or eventually the eligible interest of the Company.

Recipients of the personal data

The personal data of collaborating artists may be handed over in relation to fulfilment of the statutory or contractual obligations of the Company to the following recipients: tax administration bodies of the Czech Republic or other public administration bodies of the Czech Republic (when performing activities within their competence).

The following processors may be appointed to process the personal data of the collaborating artists: suppliers of databases or other information systems used by the Company or providers of data storage systems, the website administrator, providers of accounting or HR services, auditors, tax or legal advisors (in the extent strictly necessary for cooperation).

Personal data storage time

Personal data of the collaborating artists are processed during duration of cooperation between the Company and the respective artist as well as during the period when any rights arising from or related to the contractual relationships may be claimed. The personal data which are the integral part of the documents for which longer archiving periods are prescribed by special legal regulations, shall be stored during the determined prolonged archiving period.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

Provision of the personal data is the contractual requirement to the extent the personal data processing is necessary for preparation, concluding and performance (or eventually enforcement) of the contract concluded by and between the Company and the artist. If the personal data are not provided, it may result in impossibility to establish the contractual relationship by and between the respective artist and the Company.

e) Business partners of the Company or prospective business partners of the Company (their representatives, employees or the persons appointed by them)

The purpose and legal basis of the processing

The purpose of the personal data processing of business partners of the Company (their representatives, employees or contact persons) is proper negotiation, conclusion and performance of the contract concluded by and between the Company and the respective business partner.

Recipients of the personal data

Personal data of business partners of the Company (or eventually their representatives, employees or contact persons) may be passed on in relation to fulfilment of the statutory or contractual obligations of the Company to the following recipients: tax administration bodies of the Czech Republic or other public administration bodies of the Czech Republic (when performing activities within their competence).

The following processors may be appointed to process the personal data of business partners (or eventually their representatives, employees or contact persons): suppliers of databases or other information systems used by the Company, providers of data storage systems, the website administrator, providers of accounting or HR services, auditors, tax or legal advisors (in the extent strictly necessary in relation to the provision of services for the Company).

Personal data storage time

Personal data of business partners of the Company (or eventually their representatives, employees or contact persons) are processed during duration of the contractual (commercial) relationship by and between the Company and the respective business partner and afterwards during the period when any rights arising from or related to the contractual relationships may be claimed. Personal data which are the integral part of the documents for which longer archiving periods are prescribed by special legal regulations shall be stored during the determined prolonged archiving period.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

Provision of the personal data is the contractual requirement to the extent the personal data processing is necessary for preparation, concluding and performance (or eventually enforcement) of the contract by and between the Company and the business partner. If the personal data are not provided, it may result in impossibility to establish the contractual relationship by and between the respective business partner and the Company.

f) Users of the SIGNAL FESTIVAL 2018 app

The Company shall monitor location of mobile devices of the users who purchased the festival map in the SIGNAL FESTIVAL 2018 app (hereinafter referred to as the "geolocation data") only during duration of the SIGNAL festival.

The purpose and legal basis of the processing

The purpose of processing of the geolocation data of the users collected by the map in the app is collection of the data about exact or approximate location of the mobile or similar device via GPS and the network thanks to which the festival map may be fully functional including display of the current data regarding capacity and availability of the particular artwork. On the basis of the location data, the Company will be able to send to the users on their request so-called push notifications that may concern mainly the current events, changes on the map or the created user's route. The company may afterwards process the data for its statistic purposes in order to find out festival visitors rate and the data regarding the particular artwork. Data regarding the position of the mobile app are not anyhow bound to any personal data of the user and are anonymized for processing. Protection of the personal data is not related to the anonymized personal data.

The legal basis of processing of the data regarding exact or approximate position of the mobile or similar device via GPS or network is the consent of the user. Monitoring of the location of the mobile device may be set up at any time in the map in the app.

Recipients of the personal data

The geolocation data of the users of the map in the app may be submitted to the authorized public administration bodies of the Czech Republic. The following processors may be appointed to process the geolocation data: the company Google LLC as the operator of Google Maps that monitors geolocation data for the Company, suppliers of the information and database services used by the Company, providers of data storage systems (in the extent strictly necessary in relation to the provision of services for the Company).

Personal data storage time

The data regarding the location of the mobile device of the users of the map are processed during duration of the festival and afterwards during the period which is strictly necessary.

Requirement for provision of the personal data

Provision of the geolocation data to the Company is optional.
