About project

This modular site-specific installation by the Polish artistic duo Katarzyna Malejka and Joachim Slugocki links the tops of trees with streams of light. A structure of horizontal lines winds from tree to tree, bringing an element of logical geometric arrangement to the urban environment. However, the minimalism and logic of this installation does not eliminate its poetic side, which introduces a playful combination of colours and shapes to public spaces.

About artist

The young artistic duo of Katarzyna Malejka and Joachim Slugocki come from Toruń, Poland. In their work they mostly explore abstract and geometric shapes, often embedded in natural environments. Both studies at the department of visual arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In addition to their collaborative works, Katarzyna Malejka works with new media and creates her own installations, while Joachim Slugocki works as a painter and video artist.
