Extensive Off programme

4. 10. 2023 → Signal 2023

This year’s Signal Festival will explore the possibilities and limits of new ecosystems, not only in the main programme but also in the off programme. The latter is once again expanding into the entire festival week, which kicks off on Monday 9 October and runs until Sunday 15 October. Arrive at the popular Signal Talks panels, the audiovisual performance V E K T R O S K O P △, or discover one of the immersive exhibitions!

Signal Talks (CZ) → Public Space Ecosystem
The off programme will open on 9 October at 18:00 at Kunsthalle Praha with a panel discussion entitled Public Space Ecosystem, in which artists  Iva Polanecká, Pavel Kappel, Jakub Pešek and Signal Festival’s chief curator Pavel Mrkus will talk about how the relationship between an art project and the urban landscape is formed. Admission to the event is free, but due to the limited capacity we recommend prior online booking.

Signal Talks (CZ) → Creator Ecosystem
Signal Talks will follow up with a discussion on the Creator Ecosystem, which will take place on 10 October at 18:30 in Hall 40 of the Holešovice Market Hall. Among others, Kateřina Šedá, Pavel Korbička, Marek Šilpoch, Jana Bernartová, but also Jiří Příhoda, the author of the kinetic object VISTA MARS working with real images of the planet Mars, who will come alive with a special audiovisual programme during this year’s Signal Festival, will be a guide through the intricate corners of the creation of the artwork.

Artists TBA (CZ) → ELEKTROSALON: From the Rave to the Gallery
The group exhibition under the curatorial direction of Marek Šilpoch, who is also one of the exhibitors, is part of the off programme – the group exhibition ELEKTROSALON: From the Rave to the Gallery in Hall 40 of the Holešovice Market Hall. The exhibition will present the work of several artists who started as visual makers or illuminators in the club or rave scene and will offer different multimedia works that in a joint dialogue will create a unique and immersive experience. The exhibition was made in cooperation with The Chemistry Gallery  and H40. The exhibition is accessible with a Signal Plus or Signal VIP ticket. However, admission can also be purchased separately.

V E K T R O S K O P △
The popular series of audiovisual performances V E K T R O S K O P △ will this year take over the historic premises of St. Nicholas Church on Old Town Square. Live music, a piano controlled by a robotic hand, lasers, acoustic and electronic music – all this is V E K T R O S K O P △ and its theme this year is Ecosystem as a non-zero sum game. The project of audiovisual artist David Vrbík will be accompanied this year by Beata Hlavenková, Leoš Hort and Jan Burian Jr. Entry can be purchased separately, Signal Plus and Signal VIP ticket holders get a discount.

0xCollection → Synesthetic Immersion
In addition to the festival satellite Concrete Layers by artist Federico Díaz, you can also see the debut exhibition Synesthetic Immersion by 0xCollection at Bořislavka Centrum. The main partner of the exhibition is Allwyn. It presents eight leading new media artists who, through their works, explore the definition of beauty through the eyes of hardware or develop the possibilities of post-human identity. All eight works confront us with a key question – what could art be today and in the future? The exhibition is patronized by KKCG.

0xCollection “Synesthetic Immersion”

The 11th Signal Festival will present a total of 20 installations, including 7 installations in the gallery zone accessible only to Signal Plus and Signal VIP ticket holders. Explore with us all the unique works by leading artists in the visual and digital arts. Signal Festival will take place from 12 to 15 October 2023, be there with us!
