Introducing the visual identity of this year’s edition! It was created by Jan Brož, Jan Novák and AI

The 11th Signal Festival is knocking on the door, so we would like to introduce this year’s theme and the new visual identity. The festival will take place on 12-15 October in the streets of Prague.

Ecosystems 01: Explore!

Join us on an exploration! This year’s theme is Ecosystems and their exploration, during which you will encounter artificial intelligence, natural elements, architectural order, mathematics, biology, poetics, drama and play together with us.

Jan Brož & Jan Novák

For the fourth time, the visual identity was created by the graphic design duo Jan Brož and Jan Novák, who are behind the visual design of Plan B, Plan C, and the 10th anniversary edition of Signal X. This time, they took the help of artificial intelligence to create a unique visual identity that is playful, colorful and varied.

Jan Brož is a graphic designer who collaborates with cultural institutions, for example, he is the author of the spatial and graphic design of the permanent exhibitions Architecture for All and The End of the Black and White Era at the National Gallery in Prague. Between 2015-2021 he was Art Director of the Centre for Contemporary Art Futura. He also participated in the exhibition Floral Union on the occasion of the Czech EU Presidency.

Jan Novák is a typographer, he collaborated with Filip Kraus on the visual style of the MeetFactory cultural center and with the Okolo group on the typeface for their annual magazine. In 2023 Jan co-founded AllCaps, an international typeface company that publishes research-based font projects. He created the San Sebastian font for the Signal Festival, which can be seen on all of the festival’s marketing materials.
