The Monumental Gate of Imagination

In this installation—partnered by glo™—Milan Cais blends sculpture, architecture, and digital art. He plays with space and imagination, expanding on the theme that runs through this year’s entire edition: “Dream On! Dreams and Visions”.

We unveiled an early version of the project during the “JOIN THE CIRCLE” event on July 23rd at Prague’s Žofín Palace, where visitors had the chance to step directly into the creative process and help shape the installation’s final form.

During an interactive presentation, people could choose from moving fractals and words within a projection environment, selecting those that best resonated with their dreams and visions at that moment. Milan Cais will then incorporate these selected word combinations into the installation’s final audiovisual design.

A Mysterious Object That Comes Alive at Night

The installation will take the form of a geometric structure with a glossy black surface. By day, it will act as a mirror to its surroundings, drawing in fragments of the city. After dark, the object will transform through imagery, light, and sound. Two conical openings will reveal the structure’s interior, where circular projection surfaces will serve as the canvas for the audiovisual experience.

Visual artist and musician Milan Cais (of the band Tata Bojs) was involved with the Signal Festival right from its very inception. For the inaugural 2013 edition, he created the Karlův hlídač (Charles’s Guardian) installation, blending Gothic architecture with contemporary visuals within the setting of one of the Czech Republic’s most significant landmarks Charles Bridge.

His installation this year is partnered by glo™.Together with the brand are also preparing exclusive Afterparties presented by glo™ as part of the October festival’s accompanying program.
