FESTIVAL OPENING HOURS

When does the festival take place?
The festival will run from Thursday 12 October to Sunday 15 October 2023 from 19:00 to 00:00 every day. The exception this year first children’s installation Signal Playground: Rainbow, which is open from 14:00.

When is the best time to go to the festival?
To really enjoy the festival, we recommend Sunday. It tends to be the quietest day. The crowds are thinning out, but the installations are still beautiful. Everywhere is more peaceful and you can plan your visit to the festival more according to the festival map.

MAP & APPLICATION

Where can I find a map this year?
Just download our Signal Festival app. You can then conveniently view the map on your mobile phone, including the full programme and all the necessary information about the festival. You can find the festival map on the lightpoints at each installation, on the route navigators or on our website in the Programme section.

Prefer a printed map?
Together with our partner Deník N, we are preparing a special edition with a reliable festival guide during the festival. You can get it at all ticket offices at paid installations. You will find the programme and, of course, a printed map. Our volunteer SIGNALISTS in distinctive yellow jackets are also handing it out on the streets.

HOW TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL?

Where does the Signal Festival take place this year?
The best way to find your way around is on our map. This year the festival will again take place on 2 routes in the city streets – Centrum and Karlín/Holešovice. New this year are 3 satellite installations, which are located outside the main festival route, their location can also be found in the festival map. As a bonus, you can enjoy a virtual route that offers work in augmented reality.

How do I get to the festival?
The best way to reach us is by public transport. The starting point can be Staroměstská, Křižíkova or Národní třída metro stations. We also recommend Karlínské náměstí as a great starting point for the Karlín/Holešovice route. You can also use the tram stops Karlínské náměstí, Náměstí Republiky, or Staroměstská as a reference point.

How do I get around the festival?
The best way to enjoy the festival is on your own. You can avoid congested public transport and parking worries. An evening stroll through Prague is a bonus. Together with our partner ČEZ Group, we are introducing the Help with Movement app this year. So, whether you run, cycle, or walk from one installation to another, your activity and energy with the EPP app always generate points for a unique project that ČEZ Group will financially support through the ČEZ Foundation.

By Rekola from installation to installation?
The best way to enjoy the festival is on foot or by public transport, but together with Rekola we have created a code for cycling festival-goers:

SIGNAL2023

which gets you 2 free rides within 30 minutes. The code is not conditional on a new registration, it will be given to everyone who wants to approach Rekola. But please be considerate of other Signal Festival visitors and take extra care in traffic.

GENERAL INFO

Satellite Installations
Signal Satellites are works that work with digital tools, modeling, and construction. These are works outside of the festival itinerary and can be visited at any time. However, during the festival, they will come alive with a special lighting programme. These are also works that fit with this year’s festival theme, which is Ecosystems I: Explore!
You can visit them at any time of the day, but the audio visual screenings start at 19:00 and last until 0:00.

What will the children enjoy?
We recommend a visit to the Signal Playground at the Hybernská Campus by 3dsense, the FLUX 2023 installation reminiscent of a pulsating stream of data by the Polish studio Ksawery Komputery in Invalidovna, a playful projection of emerging ecosystems by Entangled Others at the Kooperativa headquarters or Václav Mlynář‘s Puddles in the parking lot of the Andaz Prague

FESTIVAL APP & SIGNAL AR

Where can I find the festival app?
The app is available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play. We recommend keeping the app up to date, as we are constantly improving it. Follow our social networks and website and subscribe to our newsletter. You’ll know everything in time.

What can I find in the app besides the map and festival programme?
This year, just like last year, you will find the Signal AR virtual route in the app, offering 6 artworks in virtual space. The installations were created during the 9th Signal Festival in 2021 in response to the government’s anti-pandemic measures. But you can enjoy it this year as well. Just download it, head to a point on the map, scan the Signal Marker, and then discover the works in augmented reality through your phone. You don’t need anything else. You can also buy tickets from the comfort of the app and have everything in one place.
