There are 13 publicly accessible installations at Signal Festival, and they are all free. For the premium Signal INSIDE programme, which takes place indoors, you need a ticket.

Signal INSIDE offers a slightly different experience from the freely accessible part of the festival. It takes place at indoor venues with limited capacity and puts the emphasis on an individual, authentic encounter with the artworks. We made Signal INSIDE ticketed in order to manage visitor numbers, and it is the income from tickets that allows us to keep the majority of Signal Festival free and open to everyone. Furthermore, we are able to bring world-class digital art and support talented artists.

This year the accompanying programme includes the Signal Forum conference, the Signal Afterparties and the children’s workshop Údolí medúz (Jellyfish Valley).

Signal Forum is an international conference and meeting point for everyone who wants to learn and find inspiration in the fields of art, technology and contemporary society. Signal Forum takes place at the NTK – Balling Hall on Friday 16 October from 9 a.m. A place at Signal Forum needs to be reserved for a small handling fee on Goout.

Signal Afterparties presented by glo™ are unique club nights taking place from Friday 16 October to Sunday 18 October at the SaSaZu club in Prague. Each show has its own line-up and AV show. Entry to the afterparties requires a separate ticket.

Signal Space is a permanent digital art gallery run by the Signal Festival team. You will find it at Rytířská 10, where you can currently see the exhibition Echoes of Tomorrow. Entry to Signal Space requires a separate ticket, or you can buy the combined Signal UNIVERSE ticket, which includes admission both to the festival and to Signal Space. Gallery is also a part of the Signal INSIDE VIP ticket.

Údolí medúz (Jellyfish Valley) is a series of family workshops for our youngest visitors. The workshops are divided into two blocks – one for the youngest children and one for older children who already have experience with different tools. The workshops run from Friday 16 October to Sunday 18 October in the afternoon.

• First block: children aged 4–10, 14:00. In this block children colour in their own jellyfish and then turn them into a short animated film.
• Second block: children aged 10+, 16:30. The second block is designed as a playful workshop in which children learn basic technical skills such as soldering and programming an LED strip. The result is a glowing jellyfish.

No equipment is needed for the workshop, everything is provided by the organiser. The workshops are available in both Czech and English and tickets can be bought on Goout.

The festival takes place once a year over four days. This year’s edition runs from 15 to 18 October, every day from 19:00 to 24:00. VIP ticket holders have an exclusive access to Signal INSIDE installations from 18:00. Accompanying activities such as Signal Forum, the Afterparties, the Zeus performance or the Údolí medúz workshop have their own times. The Signal Space gallery can be visited all year round.

This year we are offering four main categories of tickets to Signal INSIDE:

• One-day ticket
  Valid for any one festival day and entitles you to enter all 8 ticketed Signal INSIDE locations. Each location can be visited only once.
• 4-day ticket
  Free entry to all 8 ticketed locations for the entire duration of the festival. Ideal for those who want to spread the experience over several days and perhaps return to a favourite location.
• Signal UNIVERSE
  Combines a 4-day festival ticket with a single entry to the Signal Space gallery, valid for six months.
• VIP ticket
  Includes a 4-day ticket plus VIP benefits: entry from 18:00, priority entry at all locations, a welcome drink, free admission to Signal Space and the Mercedes-Benz VIP shuttle between the routes.

Children under 6 and holders of a ZTP disability card are admitted free of charge.

Students, children under 15 and seniors are entitled to reduced admission. The discount can be selected in the shopping basket. Signal Festival staff may ask you to show a student card / photo ID when checking tickets.

A ticket is transferable up until the moment you exchange it for a wristband at one of the festival locations.

We do not refund tickets. The exception is cancellation of the event on our side; in that case we follow the General Terms and Conditions. You can find the current T&Cs on Goout.

We will send you all the benefits and the information about them by e-mail before the festival. Please keep an eye on our communication.

At your first entry to any Signal INSIDE location, just show the QR code on your phone; we recommend adding it to your Apple/Google Wallet (it works offline too). The e-mail also contains a PDF ticket, which you can print out if you prefer.

Once your ticket has been scanned, you will receive a festival wristband according to your ticket category. You have to wear it visibly on your wrist at all times and show it to our staff when entering the other locations.

First check your Spam and Promotions folders. Search for “Goout / Your tickets”. If you cannot find the e-mail, please write to info@goout.cz and give your first name, surname and the e-mail address used for the purchase.

Every venue is specific and has its own limitations.

When you arrive, follow the signage, which will gradually lead you to the entry corridors, where your ticket will be scanned and a security check carried out. Please have your QR code ready so that we can process you quickly. Entry with prohibited items is not allowed - see the safety information.

If there is a problem with your ticket during the check, you will be directed to the location coordinator, who will resolve it with you.

The easiest way to reach us is by public transport. Good starting points are the Dejvická metro station (for the Dejvice route) or Staroměstská (for the Centrum route).

You will enjoy the festival best on foot. A walk through Prague in the evening is part of the experience. For safety reasons we ask visitors not to ride bicycles, e-bikes, scooters or similar vehicles near the locations. There are more pedestrians in the streets than usual.

Use public transport to travel between the routes. If you have a VIP ticket, you are entitled to the Mercedes-Benz VIP shuttle. We will publish the shuttle points during September.

The festival runs every day from 19:00 to midnight. If you would like a calmer walk through the city and have the option, come after 21:00.

We ask visitors to be patient if they have to wait at some Signal INSIDE locations. Because of the limited capacity and our aim to keep the experience premium, queues may occur.

Signal Festival has always kept its multimedia character. This year you can look forward to 2 video mappings, immersive projections, performances, interactive object installations and much more.

Some installations run in intervals with breaks, others run continuously; you will find detailed information for each installation in the Programme and map section.

Yes, the Signal INSIDE locations are part of the festival routes and can easily be combined with a visit to the freely accessible installations. So with a ticket you can see the complete Signal Festival programme.

No, Signal Festival does not have a mobile app. All the information – the map, programme, tickets and latest news – can be found on our website, which is fully optimised for mobile devices.

Yes, together with our partner Deník N we are preparing a special edition for the festival with a printed map and interesting articles about the artists and the installations. You can get it at all the box offices at the ticketed installations. Our SIGNALISTI volunteers in bright yellow jackets also hand it out directly in the streets. Do not miss it.

Yes. This year we have prepared a rich programme for families with children:

• The children’s installation by Ján Šicko at Kampus Hybernská, open daily from 14:00. More info in the detail of the installation.
• The Údolí medúz children’s workshops at Kampus Hybernská for children aged 4 to 15. More info in the detail of the workshop.

We ask all parents to think carefully about an evening visit to Signal Festival with their children, because of safety and limitations such as:

• The festival takes place at night and the city is full of people,
• Every location has loud music,
• Signal INSIDE locations are not suitable for a visit with a pram.

Fast flashing lights and the effects of some installations may trigger photosensitive epileptic seizures in more sensitive people. Attendance should be considered with regard to your state of health.

We do our best to make the Signal Festival comfortably accessible to everyone. The situation differs depending on the specific location and the access from public space. We recommend checking the accessibility of individual venues in advance and planning your route according to your needs. If you need assistance at a location, do not hesitate to contact our marked staff. Basic notes on the locations:

• A large number of staff - from production, security and medics to volunteers and traffic coordinators - look after the smooth and safe running of the festival. We ask visitors to respect their instructions and to be considerate towards the people around them.
• For up-to-date information, including on-site safety information, follow the festival website and social media: Facebook, Instagram.
• In bad weather some installations will be closed for safety reasons; up-to-date information can be found on the website and on social media.
• Photography: only without flash and tripods. The use of drones is prohibited. Please note that we use powerful lighting equipment at the locations, which may damage your photographic gear. We are not liable for any damage.
• Public space: be considerate; do not block emergency routes or entrances to buildings.
• Safety of children: watch your children and keep them close, especially near water and during peak crowds between 19:00 and 21:00.
• Navigation and corridors: respect the routing and the instructions of the staff; it speeds up the flow and makes it more comfortable for everyone.
• Taxi services: If you want to use a taxi after the festival ends, please call it to a place further away from the main festival locations. This helps us keep the festival safe.
• (Shared) bikes & scooters: We ask visitors not to ride bicycles, scooters or similar vehicles along the festival route. There are crowds around the route and the installations.

What to expect

• The historic centre is busy with tourists; during the festival a large influx of visitors can be expected - we kindly ask for your patience and that you follow the instructions of the staff.
• Walk on the pavements, cross only at pedestrian crossings and watch the traffic around you - look out for trams and cars that also move through the streets.
• Please do not block narrow passages and respect the one-way flow of the passages.
• Take care of yourself and the people with you. Keep an eye on your valuables.
• If you notice any problems, do not hesitate to turn to our staff.

What always applies

• No smoking in any interior.
• No animals in interiors (exceptions for assistance/guide dogs)
• Controlled entry for capacity reasons - we let visitors in gradually according to how full the venue is.
• Expect an ID check for 4-day/VIP tickets (they are tied to a name).

Luggage and prams: all the locations are indoor spaces with complex layouts and space limits. Signal Festival staff may restrict entry if necessary.

Normally no. The exception is cancellation of the event on our side; in that case we follow the T&Cs.
